Superseded Versions of Terms and Conditions

Oasys keeps copies of all superseded versions of its terms and conditions.

Maintenance & Support Services

Twelve months support and maintenance is included with most products. Thereafter maintenance is typically 20% of the current sales price.

An annual maintenance service is available for most programs after the first year.

This service includes:

  • telephone/fax/email/web based support
  • free software updates available via internet download
  • personalised output header for many products

Safe

Solve geotechnical problems with this powerful 2D geotechnical finite element design software.

Geotechnical finite element analysis software

Safe is a powerful tool for two-dimensional finite element computations in plane stress, plane strain, or axial symmetry. Oasys’ geotechnical finite element analysis software identifies pore pressures and effective stresses separately, including gravitational loads and initial stresses.

Safe boasts feature-rich capabilities in one software package, allowing you to model a wide range of situations with no additional packages required. Safe can assist to solve any problem in a single project environment, saving time and money with increased engineering accuracy.

How Safe Works

Input: The software program uses an unstructured mesh generator with a clear graphical interface, which allows the input of simple or complex meshes including tunnels and other structures.

When forming an excavation or embankment, Safe supports incremental loading and changes to material properties, allowing you to store and view intermediate results. The software comes with a range of material models including linear elastic, elastic Mohr-Coulomb, modified Cam-Clay, soil reinforcement and more.

Analysis

  • Analysis of plane stress, plane strain or axially symmetric problems, by discretization into 8-noded elements with 4 or 9 Gauss points.
  • General loading of linear elastic axisymmetric structures can be carried out using a Fourier series technique.
  • Linear or non-linear behaviour.
  • Pore pressures and effective stresses are identified separately, allowing computation for drained or undrained conditions, and time dependent consolidation.
  • Incremental loading and changes of material properties, permitting the formation of excavations, embankments etc.
  • Steady state seepage, with a feature to model flows to a row of wells, and the facility to locate the position of the phreatic surface.
  • Problems where wave action generates pore pressures (“storm loading” feature).

Output: The program enables the user to study the soil stresses and strains and deformations through one or more sequences of events. The results can be obtained in tabular format and graphically. Graphical output options include plotting of vectors and contours of a wide range of derived results and graph plots of parameter variation along a user-defined line.

Key Features & Benefits

  1. Fully coupled consolidation included as standard
  2. Advanced post processing for plotting, visual results inspection and report outputs
  3. Extensive range of material models including jointed rock, reinforced soil, BRICK material model, elastic Mohr-Coulomb and many others
  4. Models time dependent consolidation and steady state seepage

Buy, Rent – 12 months, Rent – 6 months, Rent – 3 months, Rent – 1 month, 12 months maintenance (existing users only)

What should I choose?

Standalone Licences are locked to an individual machine but transferrable by the user to another machine. Ideal for single users.

Network Floating Licences can be activated on any number of machines, however you can only concurrently use the number of licences that you have purchased. Ideal for users requiring more flexibility or when working as part of a team.

Buying a licence will allow you the right to use that version of the software indefinitely. It includes 12 months of maintenance (technical support and access to software updates).

Renting the software enables you to use the software with full maintenance for the defined duration.

Keeping your software licences maintained gives you full access to technical support (telephone, email and web based) and ensures that your software is kept up-to-date with free downloadable updates. Maintenance is only available to existing licences and lasts 12 months. It is highly recommended that you keep your software licences maintained. Maintenance duration will be calculated from the date of expiry of the previous maintenance/initial warranty. If you are purchasing maintenance for licences that have been unmaintained for longer than 12 months please contact us in order to renew.

Note: complimentary 12 months support and maintenance is included when purchasing all products.
