Simulation based dummy positioning using Oasys PRIMER

PRIMER can be used to set up simulation based dummy positioning in LS-DYNA. A package containing examples and a step-by-step guide (including how to use this method on an encrypted dummy) can be downloaded from here.


FMVSS226 Ejection mitigation impact target point calculation script for Oasys PRIMER

The script calculates ejection mitigation impact points on a vehicle model for the FMVSS226 specification. CSV files of impact points can be created and used in Primer's automatic build process.

Crash test setup script for Oasys PRIMER

Crash Test Setup is a script that helps you set up various crash tests according to different regulations. Features include:

  • Barrier alignment
  • Contact definition
  • Boundary conditions (restraints, initial velocity and prescribed motion)

The script can be used to set up a single crash test relatively quickly but it is also designed to improve the process of preparing multiple crash test models:

  • You can define all of the required settings for a vehicle and link them to the keyword file. Then when you read in the model again to set up a different test, the settings are automatically loaded.
  • You can choose the default barrier model for a specific test so that the correct barrier is imported for each test type, preconfigured and ready to go.
  • You can edit and save your own Crash Test Setup preferences.

FMVSS201 Interior head impact target point calculation script for Oasys PRIMER

The script creates interior impact points on a vehicle model for the FMVSS201 specification. CSV files of impact points can be created and used in Primer's automatic build process.

New library scripts have been created to calculate contours and areas of HIC for a given pedestrian impact zone.

The contents of this directory are the LSTC dummy models. These are compatible with OASYS Primer. It should be noted that these dummies have not been validated and are not supported by Oasys Ltd.
