Xdisp – Does Xdisp model ground movements below tunnels?
No. The equations used to develop the Gaussian curve do not include expressions to calculate displacements below the axis level of a tunnel. Displacements close to the tunnel (say within 1.5 x the tunnel diameter) should also be reviewed and validated against other similar case study movements.
For displacements below axis, the user may want to consider using other analysis techniques such as numerical methods or analytical methods such as those proposed by Loganathan, Poulos and Xu (2001).
