Xdisp – How do I model long term ground movements?
Tunnelling induced ground movements using the Gaussian curve have generally been proposed and compared with case study data for immediate short term displacements following construction of a tunnel. For extrapolating the use of the program for long term displacements the user is advised to consider the development of long term displacements in similar ground conditions, see Devriendt (2003).
The CIRIA C580 relationships available within the program have also been derived by considering end of construction displacements. If long term displacements are required, it is recommended that user defined relationships are specified using alternative analysis and back analysis of monitoring data.
