Short term properties always used in M/κ and M/EI chart calculation
[NCR42] (Fixed 13 October 2005)
-
ULS analysis cases can be corrupted when running M/κ and M/EI chart
calculation. This situation occurs where there are more ULS analysis cases than
SLS cases.
[NCR43] (Fixed 13 October 2005)
-
There can be a problem specifying a user defined concrete material due to
invalid γm for SLS. This problem occurs when the preference to
suppress the SLS γm values is enabled. On entry to the wizard
the γm is set to 0 and there is then no way to adjust the
value. Adjusting the preferences offers a way to avoid the problem.
[NCR44] (Fixed 13 October 2005)
-
There can be a problem when opening the Preferences which can cause AdSec to
crash. If you can open the preferences then you will not require this fix.
[NCR45] (Fixed 31 October 2005)
-
When large bars are defined by mistake (for example in wrong units) then
editing the bars can cause the wizard to be obliterated when drawing the bars.
This is because the scaling ignores the bar size in working out the section
limits.
[NCR46] (Fixed 7 November 2005)
-
When asking for a moment-curvature or moment-stiffness chart with a non-zero
moment angle the angle is used in degrees when in fact it should be converted
to radians. This leads to incorrect charts.
[NCR47] (Fixed 8 November 2005)

[ top ]
AdSec 7.4 (build 1) Fixes
-
Crack calculations for BS5400 were failing to find the bars controlling the
crack if the cover was too great and the crack width was based on the actual
cover rather than the nominal cover. This is now corrected and a preference
allows adjustment of the depth to bars considered to control cracking.
[NCR35] (Fixed 16 August 2005)
-
When pasting a column of names to overwrite those in the ULS Analysis Case
Table, the description for the first case modified is overwritten with the
default value.
[NCR36] (Fixed 18 August 2005)
-
Editing template reinforcement for a rectangular section would result in side
bars being added when none had been specified. This problem does not occur when
the reinforcement is first entered.
[NCR38] (Fixed 5 September 2005)
-
AdSec 7.3(3) offers the design code option of "Hong Kong Code of Practice
2004". In fact what is selected by this option is what was previously labelled
"BS8110 (Hong Kong)" and is "Hong Code Code of Practice 1987".
[NCR38] (Fixed 6 September 2005)
-
Pre-stressing steel was inadvertantly removed from AdSec 7.3(3). This has now
been reinstated..
[NCR39] (Fixed 13 September 2005)
-
The Gateway not updating properly when template reinforcement expanded.
[NCR40] (Fixed 14 September 2005)
-
The option of changing design code was sometimes failing to map materials
properly from one design code to another.
[NCR41] (Fixed 14 September 2005)

AdSec 7.3 (build 3) New Features
-
Improvements to the N/M charts to reduce the number of imcomplete points.
-
Text file format for data input/output (model data only - no results)
-
Revised output wizard giving greater control of text output with option to
select cases to be output and maxima and minima for selected results.

sections)
-
Perimeter sections can be shifted to the section centroid.
[ top ]
AdSec 7.3 (build 3) Fixes
-
Incorrect bar positions for pairs of bars with arc option. This occurs because
it was possible to specify pairs of bars for arcs but the bar generation code
did not support this. Paisr of bars can now be geremerated for any of the bar
options
[NCR27]
-
When editing a section definition any template reinforcement looses its cover.
The cover is now retained.
[NCR28]
-
The name of a new compound section was being lost on exiting the dialog and is
now retained.
[NCR29]
-
An SLS loads analysis warns about creep even when short term analysis has been
selected. This message is now triggered only if the analysis selected will
require creep.
[NCR30]
-
Odd values for strain were encountered in some circumstances when converting
rebar stress-strain to true stress-strain. This occurred when there was a
strain value of -1 whcih results in an undefined value when converting to
logarithmic strain
[NCR31]
-
M/Kappa and M/EI should update an open graphic view but were always retaining
the previously selected view.
[NCR32]
-
The positions of bars in the general reinforcement table is corrupted when the
table is opened. This is now fixed.
[NCR33]

AdSec 7.3 (build 2) Fixes
-
Graphic points on Myy/Mzz charts were sometimes missing.
[NCR15]
-
AdSec crashing in Print Preview or Print when print scaling is selected. Fix
applied to print scaling
[NCR16]
-
AdSec not saving additional points on N/M and Myy/Mzz charts. These are now
written to the AdSec file.
[NCR17]
-
Wrapping a recto-circular section resulted in a layer that was too thin. The
number of facets selected has been revised for this type of section.
[NCR18]
-
AdSec not always giving a solution unless interactive mode is entered. This
problem has been partially addressed but the problem seems to be in the
underlying Microsoft software.
[NCR19]
-
AdSec was crashing when code cover selected for column template reinforcement
[NCR20]
-
Colouring bars by type/pre-stress was failing to colour the last
"set" of bars
[NCR21]
-
BS5400 would give peculiar crack width diagrams for situations where the
reinforcement was placed in a random pattern due to the way the cnom
was interpreted. This has been changed so that disjoint diagrams are produced
where no controlling bar can be identified.
[NCR22]
-
The printout wass set permantly to Condensed. COndensed can now be deselected.
[NCR23]
-
When entering data in the loads table "==" was not working when in
the second column.
[NCR24]
-
Incorrect interpretation of the EC2 rectangular stress block resulted in
incorrect answers.
[NCR25]
-
AdSec is in some cases generating an incomplete N/M chart, due to failure to
find some of the key points.

AdSec 7.3 (build 1) Fixes
-
SLS analysis to BS5400 can cause problems in the crack calculations depending
on the section shape and the distribution of reinforcement. This problem arises
for particular geometries where part of the section is unreinforced. In this
situation the check for reinforcement at a distance greater than nominal cover
is unreliable.
[7.2/09]
-
Deleting rows of general reinforcement in the reinforcement table can result in
corruption of subsequent rows of data. This problem may not be immediately
obvious.
[7.2/10]
-
The stress-strain curves for 1770 reinforcement are incorrect. The material is
too stiffness between first yield and fully yielded.
[7.2/11]
-
"Long and short term" analyses are not fully validated and in some cases give
an incorrect solution. This does not affect "long term" and "short term"
analysis.
[NCR1]
-
In some cases AdSec fails to get a solution for a "ULS Loads" analysis.
[NCR2]
-
When enterening section data in the Section Wizard the option to give details
of the section properties reports the properties in the wrong units in some
cases instances. Changing the units fixes the problem.
[NCR3]
-
Closing AdSec using the close icon on the title bar ("x") does not allow model
to be saved and program to exit.
[NCR4]
-
German output when "Windows current locale" is selected. This problem is due to
the way that Windows selects language resources if the local language option is
not available. The problem can be avoided by explicitly setting the language
for output to the one that is required
[NCR5]
-
Units on chart axis labels can appear to be wrong. This is due to truncation of
the label losing the unit multiplier so for example "kNm×103"
may appear as "kNm". The drawing has been revised to avoid this problem.
[NCR6]
-
Adding a second layer of top reinforcement actives the bottom-reinforcement
clear-distance edit box.
[NCR7]
-
Double-clicking on an AdSec file doesn't open the application properly. There
are a number of variants on the symptoms but these are due, in the main, to
incorrect registry settings.
[NCR8]
-
No crack width output from AdSec for an EC2 analysis.
[NCR9]
-
When a section is edited in the template reinforcement wizard the cover is
reset to zero.
[NCR10]
-
The template section wizard loses the side bars when a section is edited. This
is because the pitch/number of bars option is not handled correctly in the
reinforcement wizard.
[NCR11]
-
Expanding a section results in all the bars being lost.
[NCR12]
[ top ]
AdSec 7.2 New Features
-
Prestress in bars now uses the reinforcement stress-strain curve and is no
longer limited to the linear-elastic range.
-
Results can be saved, so that when the file is reopened results can be
redisplayed.
[ top ]
AdSec 7.2 Fixes
-
In some cases installation of AdSec failed due to a problem with registration
of DAO and/or Jet.
[7.2/01] (Fixed: 19 December 2002)
-
In some cases, particularly where the section contains lots of bars, graphics,
analysis and output could all be significantly slower that had been the case in
the beta version.
[7.2/02] (Fixed: 10 January 2003)
-
A reinforcement pattern described in the table as type arc is displayed
as type single. The actual pattern is shown correctly in the graphic
view.
[7.2/03] (Fixed: 10 January 2003)
-
When reinforcement is defined as type arc the steel type specified is
ignored.
[7.2/04] (Fixed: 10 January 2003)
-
Installing AdSec 7.2 sets the file extension associated with AdSec to gwb. This
can be fixed using the Control Panel | Folder Options | File Types to change
the file association.
[7.2/05] (Fixed: January 2003)
-
Problems exist when assembling a description for elliptical, recto-circular and
recto-elliptical sections. This causes the section to be corrupted when
saving/opening a file.
[7.2/06] (Fixed: 29 January 2003)
