Geo 18.1 Build 5: New Features
-
Data files may now be emailed directly from the program's interface via the 'File' menu.
-
The text output of the results view has been improved. It may now be exported
to a range of file formats via the 'File' menu.
-
Standard sets of units (SI, kN-m, kip-ft and kip-in) may be selected via the
Units and Preferences dialog.
-
So as to help users to ensure that they are running the latest software a new
version checking system has been implemented. This compares each executable
file installed locally with the set that Oasys identifies as being the
'current' version. (The comparison is carried out locally; no data is
transmitted to Oasys.) Executables for which updates are available are
highlighted. Updates may then be downloaded from the Program's Downloads page
on the Internet. This system enables rapid delivery of bug fixes and,
occasionally, minor enhancements.
- The graphics data input has been improved. The user can now delete the groundwater
data and strut data in the graphics input view itself.
- The synchronisation of data between the graphics input view and the related tabular
data entry views has been improved.

Geo 18.1 Build 5: Fixes
-
When entering data, if the “balance water pressures" option in "Analysis" is checked before any
data is entered for the groundwater levels, then when you try to open the ground water data table
an error is given and the table does not open properly. A workaround is to un-check
the "balance water pressures" option in "Analysis", enter the ground water data, and then
check "balance water pressures".
[NCR 18] (Fixed 3 November 2005)
-
On opening a file that has been stored with results clicking 'Examine Results' may fail with the
error message 'An invalid argument was encountered'. Re-analysis is necessary before the results can be viewed.
[NCR 19] (Fixed 3 November 2005)
-
In cases where there is very small difference between the active and passive ground levels
compared to the increment level, the program may crash.
[NCR 22] (Fixed 21 February 2006)
-
Version checking fails to identify the current version correctly.
[NCR 29] (Fixed 26 May 2006)(Released 30 May 2006 in Stawal.exe 18.1.6.0)
-
Strut forces may not be shown correctly in the results output of Stawal.
[NCR35](Fixed 27 June 2006)(Released 14 July 2006 in Stawal.exe 18.1.70)
-
