8th European LS-DYNA Users Conference23rd - 24th May 2011, Strasbourg, FranceArup co-sponsored the eighth LS-DYNA European Users Conference, held in Strasbourg, France on 23-24 May. The Arup team in attendance were Brian Walker, Miles Thornton, Ryan Judge and Hazel Partridge. Miles presented a paper on the customisation of the model build/setup process using JavaScript in Oasys PRIMER. Ryan presented a paper based on his PhD research with Arup on the numerical simulation and experimental validation of spiral-strand cables when subjected to high velocity fragment impact. Both papers were positively received by those in attendance and key contacts were made throughout the event.
