AdSec 8.2 SP1 build 53 Fixes
-
In a strength analysis the calculation of the capacity reduction factor for
AS3600-2009 was using ku rather than ku0 for a section in
bending.
[NCR6630] (Fixed 21 December 2011) (Released in AdSec 8.2 SP1) -
When material properties are specified by a user defined curve the failure
strain was not set. This is now set to the final strain point in the stress-strain
curve.
[NCR6895] (Fixed 5 March 2012) (Released in AdSec 8.2 SP1) -
Correction NCR6630 introduced a problem. In some cases the distance to the
neutral axis was calculated incorrectly.

AdSec 8.3 build 34 Fixes
-
In output for BS5400 AdSec reports a value of 0.5 for the Mq/Mg ratio irrespective
of the value entered. The correct value is used in the calculation.
[NCR5638] (Fixed 24 January 2011) (Released in AdSec 8.2 build 34) -
The rectangular stress block for user defined materials to BS8110 is incorrect. The
step in the stress occurs at the wrong position.
[NCR5666] (Fixed 1 February 2011) (Released in OaUtil 40.4.0.30) -
The gateway does not interact properly with the rest of the AdSec session when it
is undocked and the option of appending records can cause AdSec to crash.
some of the functionality to modify tables causes [NCR5797] (Fixed 7 March 2011) (Released in AdSec 8.2 build 34) -
The section properties reported in the output are in some cases confusing and
in other cases wrong for compound sections. This does not affect the calculations
in AdSec.
Properties of untransformed compounds sections include adjustment for different E values so
A = ΣA(Ei/E1)Properties of the gross section use the section offset incorrectly in calculation of the EI values.
etc.
[NCR5798] (Fixed 7 March 2011) (Released in AdSec 8.2 build 34) -
The output of SLS analysis cases analysed output the prestress in the creep column
and omitted to output the creep factors.
[NCR6158] (Fixed 22 June 2011) (Released in AdSec 8.2 build 34) -
The copying/pasting of reinforcement was not working when there was prestress (force
or strain).
[NCR6423] (Fixed 12 October 2011) (Released in AdSec 8.2 build 34) -
The pasting of reinforcement where the material name had spaces was resulting in a
loss of data.

AdSec 8.2 build 28 Fixes
-
When using Eurocode with a SLS analysis if the analysis was unable to find a
solution the program could report an unhandled exception.
This can in some cases be avoided by increasing the maximum number of iterations.
[NCR5198] (Fixed 30 September 2010) (Released in AdSol 40.4.0.27) -
Crack with calculations using the EC2 approximate method, would for some section
shapes get the wrong bar strains, leading to overestimates of the crack widths.
[NCR5495] Fixed (1 December 2010) (Released in AdSol 40.4.0.27) -
In EC2 calculations that interpolated between uncracked and cracked results there
would be a problem if either one of the uncracked/cracked analyses failed. The
calculation would still try to calculate the crack width, without sufficent data.
Increasing the analysis control parameters to get a converged solution can help
avoid this problem.
[NCR5496] Fixed (1 December 2010) (Released in AdSol 40.4.0.27) -
Trying to select steel catalogue sections would cause AdSec to crash.
[NCR5581] (Fixed 16 December 2010) (Released in sectlib.db3 dated 15 September 2010)

When using Eurocode and a slab definition the wrong faces were identified as
internal in the crack calculation. Switching off the slab option removes the
problem
[NCR5072] (Fixed 24 August 2010) (Released in AdSol 40.4.0.25) -
In some chart calculations as error was causing the calculation to fail.
[NCR5073] (Fixed 24 August 2010) (Released in AdSol 40.4.0.25) -
In some instances when applied strain planes were added to the loading the SLS
solution would be obvioulsy wrong.

When AS3600 is selected for ULS analysis the strength reduction factor φ
is ignored.
[NCR4984] (Fixed 15 July 2010) (Released in AdSol 40.4.0.22) -
In some instances the AS3600 2009 code was incorrectly calculating the strength
reduction factor φ. This resulted in a value of φ lower than it should
have been.
[NCR5003] (Fixed 22 July 2010) (Released in AdSol 40.4.0.23) -
An incorrect convergence tolerance in part of the SLS analysis meant that in
some instance AdSec was unable to find a solution.
[NCR5004] (Fixed 22 July 2010) (Released in AdSol 40.4.0.23) -
When running an SLS Loads Analysis with uniaxial conditions and a negative
moment, the sign of the moment was ignored.

AdSec Recent Fixes
-
When IS 456 is selected the tensile strength of the concrete is calculated
incorrectly. As this is not used by AdSec it should not cause any problems
with the calculated results.
[NCR4096] (Fixed 7 October 2009) (Released in AdSec 8.2) -
If a text file is read with ULS analysis cases, these analysis cases will
be skipped. The rest of the file is read.
[NCR4097] (Fixed 7 October 2009) (Released in AdSec 8.2) -
Editing column template reinforcement for an existing section would
results in the reinforcement being lost
NCR4123 (Fixed 15 October 2009) (Released in AdSec 8.2) -
When outputing strength details including maximum and minimum values
the maximum and minimum values are incorrect for ACI 318 and AS3600. The
table of values is correct.
NCR4143 (Fixed 22 October 2009) (Released in AdSec 8.2) -
Chinese characters are output instead of superscripts in unit abbreviations when
the system locale is set to Chinese.
[NCR4486] (Fixed 12 February 2010) (Released in AdSec 8.2) -
The forces in concrete sections at location of bar were not always deducted
from the total force calculated on the section.
[NCR4732] (Fixed 7 May 2010) (Released in AdSec 8.2)

AdSec 8.1 Fixes
-
When a user defined concrete is specified with Eurocode as the design code
AdSec does not calculate the axial strength. Instead this is reported as zero.
[NCR3410] (Fixed 24 February 2009) First released in AdSec 8.0.5.9, OaUtil 30.34.0.6 -
Changing the country for EC2 and checking the nationally determined parameters
did not reflect the updated values. The changes were saved when exiting the dialog.
[NCR3486] (Fixed 8 April 2009) First released in AdSec 8.0.5.8 -
AS3600 SLS analysis would report incorrect strains and stresse with the interpolated
model. For details of bug and fix click here.
[NCR3535] (Fixed 14 May 2009) First released in AdSec 8.0.5.12 -
Applying curvature about y axis for whole section strains would result in the
curvature being applied about both axes.

AdSec 8.0 (build 3) Fixes
- The section transformation (translation + rotation) was not
working. This has now been fixed. All rotations are now carried out with
respect to the centroid of the section.
[NCR2704] (Fixed 2 May 2008) (Released in AdSec 8.0.5.5) - When modfiying general reinforcement with the Modify button
the changes to the reinforcement would be lost. This did not affect the
double click option.
[NCR2705] (Fixed 2 May 2008) (Released in AdSec 8.0.5.5) - When calculating N/M charts for sections reinforced with FRP
the limit of delamination was not included in caluclation of the tension
plateau point resulting in a spike in the N/M chart.
[NCR2941] (Fixed 21 July 2008) (Released in AdSol 30.33.0.4) - AdSec would crash for a compound section with more than
four components when definind SLS analysis cases.
[NCR2942] (Fixed 21 July 2008) (Released in AdSec 8.0.5.5) - When outputing results containing errors or warnings the
output would often be truncated.

AdSec 8.0 (build 2) Fixes
-
Pre-stress in bars was not stored correctly resulting in loss of pre-stress
[NCR956] (Fixed 4 January 2007) -
When applying strain loading to a whole section for SLS analysis, the loading
was determined for each phase of the analysis (so ULS strength was determined
using the ULS material curve, cracking using the SLS short term curve, etc).
This leads to inconsistencies in the results. This has been fixed so that the
equivalent loads are calculated first and applied throughout the analysis.
[NCR1046] (Fixed 4 January 2007) -
With template reinforcement that involved multiple rows the autospacing would
give a spurious warning about zero spacing. This is now fixed.
[NCR1047] (Fixed 4 January 2007) -
Perimeter sections with multiple segments along a straight line would in some
instances give a spurious warning of the section overlapping itself. This is
now fixed.
[NCR1048] (Fixed 4 January 2007) -
The crack width calculations for EC2 were using a position outside the section
to calculate the crack width resulting in an over-estimate of the crack widths.
[NCR1049] (Fixed 24 January 2007)
